Soil & Building wants everyone to be able to use this website, including with a screen reader, with a keyboard only or on a small mobile phone. This statement applies to soil-building.eu, in Dutch and in English.
How accessible is this website?
This website is partially conformant with WCAG 2.1, level AA, the guidelines behind the European standard for accessible websites. Partially, because a few components come from third parties.
What we have done
- Every photo has a description, in Dutch and in English.
- Text has sufficient contrast with its background.
- With the keyboard you can always see where you are, and a link at the top takes you straight to the content.
- Every page has one main heading and logical subheadings, and every form field has a visible label.
- Rows that scroll sideways, such as the project photos, the machinery, the step-by-step plan and the projects on mobile, have buttons. You do not need to swipe.
- If you have turned off motion on your device, the animations on the site are turned off too.
What is not yet fully accessible
- The map on the contact page comes from Google Maps and does not work fully with the keyboard. That is why our address is also on the page as text.
- The map on the projects page has markers that cannot all be reached with the keyboard. That is why all projects are also listed on the page.
- The cookie notice comes from Complianz and works with the keyboard. It deliberately has no close button: you always make a choice yourself.
- The English version has been translated automatically and checked. Here and there a sentence may read less smoothly.
- Documents such as our accreditation certificate come from the body that issues them. If you need one in a different format, just ask us.
